Oral surgery covers a range of minor surgical treatments used to restore oral health, relieve pain and address conditions that can’t be treated through routine dentistry. At Lakewood Dental, our patients receive advanced care from Dr Alexandra Helm, who combines exceptional skill with a reassuring bedside manner.
Common reasons for oral surgery include:
Removing impacted or infected wisdom teeth
Extracting damaged or severely decayed teeth
Treating dental infections and cysts
Preparing the mouth for dental implants or dentures
Every procedure is carefully planned using diagnostic imaging and carried out with patient comfort as the top priority.

01
Your journey begins with a detailed consultation. Dr Helm will assess your condition, take digital X-rays if required, and explain your treatment options clearly. Patients are encouraged to ask questions at every stage.
02
On the day of your appointment, treatment is performed under local anaesthetic to ensure comfort. For patients who feel nervous, we can discuss sedation options in partnership with Dr Munir, who helps patients feel calm and relaxed throughout their care.
03
After surgery, we’ll provide clear aftercare guidance and schedule follow-up appointments to check your healing. Most patients recover quickly and return to their usual routine within a few days.
